The Director at the World Economic Forum in Davos, 24th-25th January 2014
Oliver McTernan was in Davos, 24th-25th January, to attend the World Economic Forum's Breaking the Impasse Initiative, focused on improving Israeli-Palestinian relations. The meeting sought to build upon the momentum of earlier discussions, by providing an accurate overview of the current situation in the region and exploring concrete ideas to help achieve a durable peace.Whilst at the Forum, Oliver also attended a discussion titled "Fulfilling North Africa's Promise", which reflected on the Tunisia's experience of democratic transition, and explored what the lessons have been learned by political leaders since 2011 and what does the future hold for the region? The discussion was attended by Rached Ghannouchi (President of Ennahda) and Beji Caid Essebsi (President of Nidaa Tounes) who had both recently participated in Forward Thinking's Tunisian Dialogue.
