The Director presents shortlist prizes at 3rd Annual Palestinian Book Awards, London 6th November 2014

Oliver attended the third annual Palestinian Book Awards, hosted by the Middle East Monitor (MEMO) in London, 6th November. The event recognises the best writing on Palestine in the previous year across a range of genres, including politics, poetry, memoirs and Palestinian cookery.At the ceremony, Oliver presented the prizes to the seven authors that were shortlisted for the prize. The overall winners of the 2014 awards included:

  • General Award: Ali Abunimah - The Battle for Justice in Palestine 
  • Academic Award: Diana Allan -Refugees of the Revolution: Experiences of Exile 
  • Memoir Award: Salim Tamari & Issam Nassar - The Storyteller of Jerusalem: The Life and Times of Wasif Jawhariyyeh
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Salman Abu Sitta
