Projects Officer attends ECFR roundtable: "Security, Development and Reform in North Africa: Exploring the Connections", 22nd June 2015

Projects Officer, Harry Higginson, attended an ECFR roundtable focusing on the current situation in the five countries of North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. The roundtable explored a wide range of topics including how to balance the need for security with respect for human rights; the challenge of promoting economic growth in the region; and how the EU, and wider international community, can help to facilitate development and reform .The meeting was well attended and brought together a diverse range of participants (including academics, representatives of NGOs/ think-tanks, and individuals from European foreign ministries) that helped ensure a free flowing and informed discussion.
