"Political developments in Israel", an online discussion, 14th May 2020

On 14th May, Forward Thinking held a workshop with a group of Israeli leaders from a diverse range of political parties, religious organisations and communities. The purpose of the meeting was to explore recent political developments in Israel, including the possibility of annexation in the West Bank, the formation of the new coalition government, and the coronavirus pandemic. Over the the course of discussions, participants also sought to go beyond these immediate issues and reflect on the long-term strategic challenges presented by the conflict.A key idea explored by the group was the possbility of establishing cross-community networks and ties between leaders with constituency in Israel, in order to restart an internal national debate on the conflict. This workshop built on previous discussions with the group and is part of Forward Thinking’s continuing work to engage and empower leaders that are committed a sustainable resolution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
