Oliver McTernan holds meetings in Israel and Palestine, 18th - 22nd May

Between the 18th - 22nd of May the Director of Forward Thinking, Oliver McTernan, held a series of meetings in Jerusalem, Ramallah, and Gaza.Meetings in Jerusalem provided an opportunity to engage with some of the Knesset members recently elected to be part of the Twenty-First Knesset. This included long-standing contacts and individuals elected for the first time. Discussions provided an opportunity to follow up on recent visits by Israeli delegations to Northern Ireland to study the peace processes there, and to explore future activities.While in Gaza, Oliver met with a number of key interlocutors and participated in an Iftar. The visit to the Gaza Strip provided an opportunity to see first hand the humanitarian situation, which is in danger of reaching a critical point.
