Strengthening Tunisian-European relations, with Rached Ghannouchi - 22 June 2021

Forward Thinking facilitated a meeting between Rached Ghannouchi, Speaker of the Tunisian House of People’s Representatives, and European and British parliamentarians. After an introduction by Mr Ghannouchi on the issues faced by Tunisia’s democratic transition, the floor was opened to a discussion on collaboration between Tunisia and Europe.European and British parliamentarians expressed their interest in strengthening Tunisian democracy and sought practical ways that they could further deepen the relationship between Tunisia, Europe and Britain.Mr Ghannouchi was joined by Ms Arwa Ben Abbas, Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee of the Tunisia-European Union and Mr Mounir Al-Balti, the Committee’s rapporteur.
