Forward Thinking hold meetings in Tunis, 28-31 May

Julian and Harry travelled to Tunisia to hold a roundtable discussion as part of Forward Thinking's Tunisian Political Dialogue Process. For the first time the meeting formally brought together Tunisian participants from both Forward Thinking's political dialogue and its dialogue with youth "rejectionist group. This allowed for a unique discussion between senior politicians from two of the Troika parties, representatives from the Salafist Al-Islah party, youths who belong to political parties and  youths who have rejected participation in the mainstream political parties of Tunisia. Politicians had the opportunity to directly hear the concerns of young Tunisians, who expressed their frustration at being marginalised in the transition despite having played a leading role in the revolution.Forward Thinking also used the trip to hold a series of bi-lateral meetings with participants in the dialogue, to hear their perspective on the Tunisian transition and how they would like the dialogue to move forward. Meetings were held with representatives of many of the leading political forces in Tunisia, including:  Ennahdha, Ettakatol, CPR, Nidaa Tounes, Al-Islah and the Tunisian Workers' Party, which allowed Forward Thinking to gain a full picture of the current Tunisian context.
