Helsinki Policy Forum, Steering Group Meeting, 18th August 2021

The Helsinki Policy Forum Steering Group met in Helsinki on the 18th of August to share analysis on events in the Gulf-MENA region. Hosted by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participants gathered from the Gulf-MENA region and Europe and discussed the unfolding events in Afghanistan, differing perspectives on threat perception, good governance, returning to the JCPOA, and efforts to reduce tension and build confidence.The group also planned for the upcoming events of the Forum and reiterated the importance of dialogue amidst volatile circumstances.
