Forward Thinking hold meetings at Jericho Agro-Industrial Park, 1st April 2017
Members of Forward Thinking were invited to Jericho to visit the Jericho Agro-Industrial Park (JAIP) and hold meetings with the Park's management to discuss how the JAIP can contribute to developing the Palestinian economy.
JAIP was established in 2012 to be a leading industrial park and logistics hub for Palestinian businesses, and to facilitate Palestinian exports to international markets. The Park is in the process of finishing phase 1 of a 3 phase development, and when fully operational it hopes to have over 10,000 workers operating in the park.Discussions focused on the challenges facing Palestinian exporters; the need to attract Foreign Direct Investment; and how to tie to the work of the park to the education system, through training opportunities and work placements.Forward Thinking were also given a tour of some of the factories operating at the park, which gave an opportunity to hear directly from Palestinian businesses on the challenges they face.
