Oliver McTernan, takes part in a televised debate, Sky channel 842, Wednesday 16th May, 20:00

Oliver took part in a live debate on the programme 'The Big Question' (20:00, Wednesday 16th May, Ahlulbayt, sky channel 842) on the following topic:Today, due to migration and other factors, Europe, and especially Britain, finds itself religiously and racially diverse. Since the enlightenment, however, Europe gradually developed into a secular society. Religious diversity in a largely secular society has opened up many challenges and questions: Should people of faith leave their identity at the door? Does religion add any value to society and does citizenship and the religious identity belong together? Do religions breed intolerance in society? How do the various faith identities live together and deal with contentious issues of  gender equality and sexuality?
