Forward Thinking Breakfast Meeting with Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul-Fotouh, Founder and President of Misr Al Qawia (Strong Egypt) Party, 16th December 2015

Forward Thinking convened a small breakfast roundtable with Dr Abdel Moneim Aboul-Fotouh, President of the Strong Egypt Party and a former leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Dr Aboul-Fotouh left the Muslim Brotherhood in 2011 following a decision to run for president in the 2012 Egyptian presidential election, where he finished fourth. The roundtable brought together parliamentarians, representatives of the media, members of the international community and Forward Thinking Fellows to discuss the situation in Egypt and the wider region. Several issues were explored in depth including the relationship between religion and politics; the economic challenges currently facing Egypt; and how to understand and analyse the past four years of transition in the region.Participants in discussion at the roundtable
