Forward Thinking attends Salam Project’s “The Way Forward Conference”, 29th April 2016

On the 29th April 2016, Forward Thinking attended The Salam Project’s “The Way Forward Conference." This conference sought to identify constructive ways in which Muslim communities could work together to more effectively challenge youth unemployment, criminalisation, break negative cycles of marginalisation and to address the issues of extremism and radicalisation.The conference included community stakeholders, youth and outreach workers, former members of the Metropolitan Police, legal professionals and members of religious charities, who hold constituency within their own communities. Delegates discussed their experiences within London based community cohesion projects, gang deterrence and awareness initiatives, sharing new insights from the socially conservative Somali- Salafi community in London.
