Forward Thinking attend launch of APPG on Religion in the Media, 4th May 2016

Forward Thinking attended the launch of a new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Religion in the British Media on the 4th of May in parliament. The APPG seeks to encourage greater religious literacy in the media and politics; encourage a better understanding and representation of religion in media coverage; to encourage more diversity in media representation of religion; and finally to work towards a Seventh Public Purpose for the BBC in Charter Renewal - to promote religious literacy. The launch of the APPG, hosted by Yasmin Qureshi and Baroness Butler-Sloss,  brought together relevant experts from a range of backgrounds to discuss the question: "Is there a perceived lack of religious literacy in the media?"
