Forward Thinking attend conference on the humanitarian and public health crisis in Gaza, Royal Society of Medicine, 15th April 2016

The Middle East Programme Manager attended a conference at the Royal Society of Medicine on the humanitarian and public health crisis in Gaza on 15th April. This was an opportunity to explore in depth the immense challenges to public health currently being faced in Gaza, drawing on the experiences of British and Irish senior doctors who have spent considerable time working to assist and develop medical treatment in the Gaza Strip. The vast scale and extent of the crisis was made clear, and it was described how medical assistance must be provided continuously (not just in times of heightened conflict) in order to address the many physical and psychological health needs that exist now and in the future.
