Women for a Sustainable Future (WSF) Steering Group Meeting, 27 February 2024

The Steering Group of the Women for a Sustainable Future (WSF), formerly the Women Parliamentarian Network, convened online on 27 February. The WSF Steering Group represents the diverse membership of the network and guides its strategic direction and activities. The meeting was attended by parliamentarians and senior diplomats from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Türkiye.

The purpose of the meeting was to assess the updated strategy of the WSF and to plan its future activities. Moving forward, a series of online meetings focusing on country-specific issues will allow members to request support from the Network to tackle challenges faced within their own national context.

Themes of discussion included the protection of women in conflict zones and minimising the impacts of climate change on women’s health in the Gulf-MENA region.
