The Director travels to Rome for meeting with NGO mediators group, 13th May

Oliver McTernan flew to Rome on Monday to hold a meeting with other NGOs who are engaged in international conflict mediation. The meeting was hosted by the Community of Sant'Edigio and provided the opportunity for the various organisations present to pool their knowledge and experience in mediation.The discussion covered a number of topics, including the challenges of engaging with non-state armed groups, the roles and obstacles  for international NGO (INGO) mediators in promoting peace processes, and a reflection on the recent history of INGO mediation and its future direction.
