The Director attends conference in Copenhagen with the Danish Foreign Ministry and civil society, February 7th

Oliver McTernan travelled to Copenhagen to speak at a conference on developments in the MENA region that was hosted by the Danish Foreign Ministry. The conference was attended by over forty activists and policy-makers, who took part in an informed and creative discussion.The discussion was wide-ranging, and focused on the need for the international community to provide essential support for the transitioning states of the region. There was also a general consensus that a fundamental shift needed to take place in Western policy-making in the region, which had historically valued stability over principles.
