Programme Officer discusses the challenges facing British Muslim communities on the Islam Channel, 26th April 2016

On the 26th April, Isobel Scott-Barrett joined Carl Arrindell on Islam Channel's 'In Focus' for an interview on Forward Thinking's engagement with British Muslim Communities and to debate some of the challenges that face these communities in the current political climate. The discussion focused on the challenges of tick box consultation, the stereotyping and simplification of Muslims as a single community, the pitfalls of certain aspects of government counter-extremism and anti-radicalisation policies, and the issue of pervasive negative representations in the media, particularly in light of the recent ICM-Channel 4 poll,  'What British Muslims Really Think'.
