Principles for effective communication and negotiation, online workshop with David Tarsh, 1st June 2020

On Monday the 1st June 2020, Forward Thinking facilitated a pilot workshop on principles for effective communication and negotiation led by David Tarsh. David Tarsh is the Managing Director of Tarsh Consulting, a public relations and strategic communications consultancy. He has over 30 years of business experience in marketing services companies and is well known in the Business Communications industry.Participants included young activists from the West Bank, Gaza, Tunisia, and the United Kingdom. The group was brought together as they all faced, or work with people who face, a common problem of disillusionment or disempowerment from political processes and government. The aim of this initial meeting was to explore how insights from a business and commercial perspective could be of use in the political context and, if so, to agree on potential next steps.Several key principles were outlined, including the importance of understanding what the other side values in order to reach a successful conclusion to negotiations.
