Political uncertainty in Israel - Forward Thinking hold meetings in the region 19th-22nd February 2018
Between the 19th-22nd of February, Forward Thinking travelled to the West Bank and Israel for a series of meetings. The visit came amidst an uncertain political context in Israel following the recommendation of the Israeli police to indict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meetings were held with Knesset Members from Labour, Jewish Home and Shas, as well as with members of Likud. This provided an opportunity to gain up-to-date insights into how both the coalition and the opposition perceive the implications of this announcement, as well as the current political dynamics within the Knesset and wider Israeli society.
In Ramallah and Jerusalem, meetings were held with Palestinian figures who had participated in the most recent delegation to Dublin. Discussions focused on their assessment of the visit, potential next steps and plans for future activities.
