Political Trends in the Likud - Panel Discussion 10th September

On 10th September Forward Thinking organised a panel discussion with prominent figures in the Likud party. Panellists included  advisers within the party, Rachel Gur and Dror Cohen, and Likud’s Foreign Affairs Director Eli Hazan. Joining the discussion were European parliamentarians, foreign affairs departments, and diplomats. The panel shared insights on how the Likud party perceived recent political developments in Israel and internationally.A focal point for the discsussions was the impact that the normalisation agreement between the UAE and Israel will have on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the prospects for annexation now that a decision has been suspended following the agreement. Other issues included the challenges presented by Covid-19 cases and new public health restrictions; the increasing tensions between state institutions and the executive; as well as recent coalition instability and speculation of early snap elections.
