Oliver was invited to discuss a new paper by Ismail Adam Patel, 'The Question of Palestinian Independence in Light of the Islamic Law of Nations', at an event organised by the Cordoba Foundation to celebrate the paper's release. In the paper, Ismail explores the issue of Palestinian independence from the perspective of an Islamic legal tradition.Oliver took part in a robust debate alongside Dr Daud Abdullah, Director of the Middle East Monitor, Anas Altikriti, CEO of the Cordoba Foundation and Ismail himself.
