Meeting Between Israeli Minister of Environment, Idit Silman, and Forward Thinking: Addressing the Current Challenges, 23 September 2024

Oliver McTernan and Jordan Morgan met with the Israeli Minister of Environment, Idit Silman. The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss pressing issues currently facing the region. Key topics included: the ongoing conflict in Gaza; the situation on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon; and the intersection of the conflict and climate change. During the meeting they emphasised that a ceasefire is crucial not only to halt the immediate violence but also to allow urgent attention to the region’s pressing environmental challenges, which threaten long-term stability and sustainability in the region.
