Meeting at the Brookings Doha Centre, Doha, December 2011
This workshop in December 2011, entitled ‘Contending Visions: Meeting the Challenges of the Post-Revolutionary Middle East’, was jointly organised by the Nyon Process, Brookings and the Alliance of Civilisations. One of the many discussions that took place aimed to outline the major differences between the aspirations of the MENA region’s youth and the established status quo. It sought to understand how the demands of the young can be reconciled with established systems, and explored potential mechanisms through which young people can maintain a voice following the revolutions.
