Julian Weinberg and Edward Channer hold meetings in Tunis, 24th-26th September 2012

As part of our ongoing engagement with the various political trends in Tunisia, Julian and Edward met with a range of religious and secular political figures. This included representatives from the political parties of Ennahdha (including the Minister for Investment, Riadh Bettaieb) CPR and Nidaa Tounes, as well as from the Salafist parties Al Islah and Al Asala. They also held meetings with the European Union Delegation to Tunisia, civil society groups and youth activists. These meetings proved invaluable in gauging the current situation in Tunisia in the wake of recent protests across the Arab world and the storming of the US Embassy in Tunis.
