Helsinki Policy Forum Women Parliamentarian Network Meeting in Helsinki - 9th June

On Thursday 9 June, the Helsinki Policy Forum Women Parliamentarian Network convened in Helsinki for a meeting hosted by Forward Thinking in partnership with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.The meeting brought together women parliamentarians and officials to share perspectives on issues relating to the economy and the inclusion of women in economic decision making. Representatives from Egypt, Finland, Iraq, Ireland, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Turkey, and the United Kingdom participated.Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities for women in economic decision making, ways in which financial literacy can be expanded to support parliamentarians and citizens, and sharing insights of experiences influencing economic policy. The Foreign Minister of Finland, Pekka Haavisto, also met with the Network to discuss a range of issues currently impacting Europe and the Gulf-MENA region.
