Forward Thinking’s Palestinian Women’s Network – 22nd July 2021

On 22nd July 2021, Forward Thinking convened an online workshop with its Palestinian Women's Network, bringing together Palestinian women from across the occupied Palestinian territories. This group of women represented geographical and ideological diversity and the session was used to identify key challenges facing Palestinian women today.Participants highlighted the ways in which their struggle for equal rights is intertwined with the Israeli occupation and internal Palestinian political division. They also identified contemporary challenges, including the limited participation of women in Palestinian politics, the impact of community and societal pressures on women, and the prevalence of gender-based violence in Palestine. Future sessions with the Palestinian Women’s Network will focus on these issues in greater depth.
