Forward Thinking meet Baroness Williams of Trafford, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, 14th June 2016

On the 14th June 2016 Forward Thinking met with Baroness Williams, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government, in order to discuss the challenges of inter-faith and intra-community cohesion, and strategies to combat isolation, building cooperation and resilience.Discussions touched upon the need for greater religious literacy and accuracy on reporting faith-related matters within the media and the responsibility of religious leaders to build inter-faith understanding, contributing to greater religious literacy at the political and public level. Sharing the necessity of policies shaped by a community cohesion perspective, discussions are underway on areas of potential cooperation with Forward Thinking's UK programme.
