Forward Thinking hosted a cross-party delegation of five members of the Israeli Knesset 28-30th June, for meetings with British parliamentarians and diplomats in Brussels and senior officials of the European Union. The objective of these meetings was to provide an opportunity for the Israeli members of the Knesset to explore the political red lines and to identify the obstacles and challenges that have to be addressed in order to secure the participation and endorsement of the religious, nationalistic and ideological right wing constituencies, in the search for a just and durable peace in the region. The delegates came from Likud, Israel Home Party, Kadima, Labour and Yisrael Beiteinu partiesThese meetings build on the last six years of our work where we have formed credible working relationships and established trust with a number of parties in Israel. This year our group included new participants as well as some of our longstanding participants in the dialogue. As Moshe Kahlon, Minister for Communications and Minister for Welfare & Social Services said in one of the meetings in Parliament, “Thank you Forward Thinking, I’m a veteran of 7-8 years of participating in this dialogue and Forward Thinking is doing a very important job and I thank you for this.”
