Forward Thinking host Israeli Women's Conference, Cambridge, 8-10th January 2017
From 8th-10th of January 2017, Forward Thinking hosted a workshop in Cambridge, bringing together influential Israeli women from across the religious, ethnic and political spectrum. The role of women in politics and peace-building is crucial, yet endemically under-represented. Thus, the aim of the workshop was to respond to demands for a space outside of Israel to facilitate constructive, open and uninhibited conversations between key constituency leaders. Discussions focused on the impact of Israeli internal divisions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and on the importance of redefining and reclaiming the discredited concept of ‘peace’ for all parts of Israeli society, centring on the critical role to be played by women in bridging divides across Israeli society and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
