On the 7th November Forward Thinking held a meeting with Ms Selma Elloumi Rekik, the Tunisian Minister for Tourism, in London. The meeting provided an opportunity to brief Ms Rekik on the work of Forward Thinking and to explore the current situation within Tunisia. Increasing economic growth and reducing unemployment remain the key challenges facing Tunisian policymakers. Tourism accounts for as much as 14% of Tunisia's GDP and so has a vital role in the economic regeneration of the country. However, the sector has faced numerous challenges in the years following the Revolution and is only beginning to recover.Ms Rekik was in London attending the World Travel Market,  the leading global event for the travel industry, generating more than £2.8 billion of business contracts between attendees. Over three days, the travel industry comes together as almost 5,000 exhibiting destinations, technology and private sector companies to find and network with 51,000 travel professionals, key industry buyers, journalists, digital influencers, students and tourism Ministers.Julian Weinberg in discussions with Minister Rekik
