Forward Thinking attends Muslim Council of Britain Conference, 12th November 2015

On the 12th November 2015, Forward Thinking’s Isobel Scott-Barrett and Jordan Morgan attended the Muslim Council of Britain’s conference on ‘Terrorism and Extremism: How Should British Muslims Respond?’.The meeting brought together prominent figures from the worlds of British law, civil society, media and government, and included keynote speeches from David Anderson QC - the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation (pictured below), and Keith Vaz MP - the Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee.Lively Q&A sessions followed presentations on contextualising terrorism and extremism and exploring their impacts on British society today.Finally, a plenary session summarised the key findings of animated breakout workshops which explored the challenges, and community-led responses, to issues facing British Muslim communities, focusing on education, students, family, youth, mosques and madrassas.David Anderson QC at MCB Conference Nov 2015
