Delegation of Likud Activists hold meetings in London, 7th April 2016

Following their visit to Belfast and London, organised under the Irish Peace Process Programme, Forward Thinking organised a series of meetings in London for the delegation of Likud Party Activists. The purpose of these meetings was to both share and reflect on their recent experiences in Northern Ireland, as well as to discuss the current situation in Israel and relations with the United Kingdom. The group met with Tobias Ellwood, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the FCO for the Middle East, and held a robust discussion on the current prospects for peace in the region and the role the UK can play in supporting positive developments in the region. Members of the delegation also met with Emily Thornberry, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, where they discussed, amongst other issues, the need to work at the grassroots level to develop an environment where peace initiatives can succeed.
