Forward Thinking meet The Children's Commissioner for England

On 3rd November 2016, Oliver McTernan and Jordan Morgan met with Anne Longfield, The Children’s Commissioner for England, and Graham Ritchie, Head of Policy at the Commissioner's Office.The meeting provided a chance to discuss Forward Thinking’s UK Programme focused on building bridges between diverse British Muslim communities and the British Establishment.  Discussions highlighted the recurring challenges and concerns articulated by influential Muslim community members across UK Programme locations. The contemporary approaches to countering extremism and the effects on isolated and marginalised Muslim communities were explored. In particular, conversations focused on the balance of freedoms to exercise religion or belief for Muslim children and families and public security.
