13-16 June, Forward Thinking and the Nyon Process hosted Egyptian presidential candidate Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh

13-16 June, Forward Thinking and the Nyon Process hosted Egyptian presidential candidate Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh for meetings with the media and parliamentarians, to discuss the situation in Egypt and the political programme ahead. Dr. Aboul Fotouh explained that his decision to run as a candidate in the presidential elections came as a result of being pushed by many members of the youth of Tahrir Square, who argued that they did not have a national symbol who could represent the political centre ground. He stressed his independence as a candidate, that he is not the Muslim Brotherhood candidate, and that he was campaigning on a national platform, representing all Egypt, not any particular group.
