Annual Report 2024

Our Annual Report 2024 outlines our activities from throughout the year across our three main programmes. This year’s report includes analysis from Sir Jeremy Greenstock and our Director, Oliver McTernan. Despite the significant challenges of the year, we remain committed to reaching sustainable stability and peace in the region, and we are grateful to all those who have supported and participated in our work.

Below is a message from our Chairman William Sieghart OBE:

This has been the most challenging and difficult year in the Middle East in Forward Thinking’s twenty-year history. The conditions for our work have been as dangerous and demanding as they could be while the horizon ahead is anything but steady.

Despite this, our team have been as energetic as ever, visiting the region every few weeks to engage with our partners across the Middle East, while keeping our networks informed around the world. It is with great pride therefore that I introduce our twentieth annual report. Never has our work been more necessary or relevant and never has it been more difficult or complicated to do.

On behalf of our trustees and all our supporters and partners I want to thank Oliver McTernan and his team for their courageous commitment to their work under great duress and occasionally under fire.
